Belgian singles by The Beatles
From "Can't Buy Me Love" to "Lady Madonna", Belgian pressings parallel the UK release schedule, with two noteworthy exceptions: "Paperback Writer" / "Rain" and "Penny Lane" / "Strawberry Fields Forever". There is no evidence that either of these were pressed in Belgium.
Looking at the Humo hit parade this can seem rather surprising, as both records did well in this chart.
"Paperback Writer" entered in early July 1966 and stayed there for nine weeks, number 7 being its highest position.
"Penny Lane" also stayed in the charts for nine weeks, from mid-March to the beginning of May 1967, with three weeks in the number 4 spot.
